Rain Gutter Regatta

 

Christopher had his rain gutter regatta this week for cub scouts.  He made a boat called "The Discovery". I had never seen one of these races before.  It was fun to see the boys blowing with or without straws to get their boat to move.  Our boat didn't win but we won for "best sportsmanship".  Way to go Christopher!

A long time ago

15 Years ago this summer, I went with my girlfriends after High School graduation to California. We were 10 girls with nothing to worry about. We have stayed close over the years as we have dealt with our many joys and trials.

So, this May we will celebrate our friendship in California again. 4 days of pure fun! Can't wait! All 10 of us back together. Watch out Cali, we have been known to streak this state before.

Grandpa Came to Visit

Thanks Grandpa for a fun week. We're trying not to hold it against you that Max likes you the best.

2008 Year in Review

January

Christopher made and competed in his first pine wood derby.

February

Danielle and Grandpa Wade came to visit.

March

Mammaw Griffiths and Cousin Blake came for Easter and the Houston Rodeo. We were also able to take a trip to Galveston Island with the Steenbakkers.

April

Aunt Missy and Cousin Brooke came to visit.  We watched lots of Baseball and Madelyn had fun with Brooke playing dress ups!

May

We spent a long weekend in New Braunfels at Schiltterbahn water park with the Henschels.

June 

All three kids plus Mom were able to go to Cub Scout Day camp for a week.  We were also able to watch the Yankees and the Red Sox play the Astros.

July

Between all the pool hopping this summer, we spent some time in Dallas visiting friends and cousins.

August

We spent a week in Ohio visiting the Griffiths' Family and attending Alicia's wedding. We also had a relaxing week in Panama City, Florida with Grandpa Wade and my brother Chad and his family.  

September

Hurricane Ike.  13 days without power but we were lucky to to spend some time at family and friends.  

October

Texans vs The Bengals

November

Baseball, Baseball and more Baseball.  Mammaw and Pappaw Griffiths came to watch the boys play too.

December

King Max came to our home.  The kids are in LOVE!

January Birthdays

Mammaw Griffiths is having a birthday on January 12th.  She is the greatest grandma a child could ask for.  Mammaw sent "Ohio State" tye-dye shirts for the boys  and the boys think she made the shirts.  She really didn't make them but the boys think she did because they think she is that awesome! I think she has done a great job "multiplying and replenishing" the earth with these 9 grandchildren.  Happy Birthday, Mammaw!

January 15th is my brother, Chad's Birthday.  He is the best Husband, Father, Brother and Friend.  Happy Birthday!
