Robyn's Birthday

This past weekend, I went to a friends birthday party. Her husband had been planning this surprise party for six months. He flew all of us out of towners in for the big event. We had so much fun surprising Robyn with a spa getaway weekend. Can you imagine having a limo pull up to your house and you go out and your friends are hiding in the limo to surprise you? That is what we did. To see the expression on her face was priceless. I am sure it is a birthday she will never forget.

Arrow of Light

The Arrow of Light is the highest award a cub scouter can earn. It is the only award than can be transfered to a boy scout uniform besides the religious square knot. Christopher earned his this week and we couldn't be prouder. Way to Go, Christopher!!

Christopher turned 11 this weekend...Eleven Things about Christopher List (with help from Christopher)

1. Christopher is playing SCFL football. He is on the Junior Texans. He plays defensive end, cornerback, right guard and special teams. He is enjoying learning the game and making plays.

2. Christopher wishes he had a bearded dragon for a pet. I was OK with it until I found out they live about 30 years...

3. Christopher is now a 11 year old scout and lucky him they had a overnight camp-out on his birthday. Christopher and Dad camped out in this Texas heat.

4. Christopher enjoys running. He doesn't mind all the running at football practice. Before we signed up for football, I heard horror stories of the running involved. But, luckily Christopher likes it.

5. Christopher's best friend is Garrett. I hope it always stays that way.

6. Christopher is learning the effects of chemicals in Science class. This is his favorite subject.

7. Christopher enjoys doing anything outdoors...fishing, baseball, football, riding bikes, scooters, finding frogs and swimming...

8. Christopher's favorite book is Deeper.

9. Christopher is learning to play the trombone this year at school.

10. Christopher's Hero is his Dad. Christopher thought his dad was not going to be back for his birthday and Matt surprised him at lunch at school. We checked him out for the afternoon and he loved being the only child.

11. Christopher wanted pumpkin pie for his birthday cake....this child must be his mother's.

It's official! My dad got married this weekend.

This summer we drove to Ohio to visit Matt's family. It was neat to see a little bit of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennesee and Kentucky along the way. Now, we can cross those off our lists of states we have driven through.

Cub Scout Day Camp 2010

In June, we attended Day Camp. Madelyn was able to attend as a "Me Too" .

I went two days with Christopher and two days with Garrett. This is Christopher's last year.
